Electrical Energy Experiment

Question:
Why does the water bend to the electrical object?

Hypothesis:
I thought that the water would ben away from the object and not to
the object.

Materials:
1 bottle
1 Plastic marker
1 towel

Method:
1. Make a hole on the bottom of the bottle.
2. Rub the pencil between the towel until you think there
Is enough electricity in it.
3. Pour some water in the bottle so that there is a little
stream going at the bottom of the bottle.

4. Move the marker towards the water stream.

5. When you see the water moving toward the pen dont
Move it any more because you have just done the
bending water experiment!

Results:
The water was bending towards the balloon when I came
close to it.

Conclusion:
The water is bending because the static electricity in the
balloon. Water has positive molecules and the static electricity
that the balloon has, is negative molecules. It is like magnets
when negative and positive molecules meat then they stick to
each other.

Further questions?
I wonder why it didnt work with the pen but it did work with a
balloon?
