To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Candido Vazquez for admission to your academic program. I have known Candido
for the past three years and he has proven to be a great student and even better community member.
Candido is outgoing, enthusiastic, trustworthy, responsible, focused and genuinely well rounded. His grades have been
consistently excellent throughout his high school career. Candido is one of the hardest working students that I have
encountered in my teaching career. He is one of the few students that is able to grasp the complex connections and concepts
of United States History and is even able to assist his fellow students on a regular basis. Candido places a great deal of pride
in every piece of work that he does. It does not matter whether it is a short quiz or a ten-page paper Candido is determined to
submit superb work.
In addition, to his academic prowess Candido is also busy in school and community activities. For the past three years
Candido has been a member of the STEM club. The STEM club is like an intro to Engineering concepts because they build
things and actually learn how the entire process works. Becoming a STEM member is a coveted position on our campus and
less than half of the applicants are chosen. As a STEM member, Candido has received hands on experience in Engineering, a
field in which he plans to make into his career. In addition, being a member of STEM Candido has learned how to instruct his
peers with compassion and to cooperate well with teachers. In his position as one of the head members of STEM he has won
various competitions along side his peers and this has prepared him even more to meet his goal, which is to become a
Mechanical Engineer.
Furthermore, Candido is an active member of the Interact Club, a community action group that raises and puts on events for
local, national and international causes. Candido is one of the masterminds behind a program that has raised money, supplies,
and awareness for the community. Aside from being in the Interact club, Candido trains for hours each week to better his
stamina for Cross Country. It is noteworthy that Candido is so dedicated to the Cross Country and at the same time keeps his
grades at a excellent level.
Perhaps the most important skill that Candido possesses is his ability to work with others. Candido is one of the few students
that I work with that understands the old adage, Leadership is service. He is able to be just one of the guys while still
distinguishing himself as a leader. He is never condensing or heavy handed, in fact, he approaches every situation with
patience and kindness. I personally believe that Candido will be able to handle any obstacle he faces in his college career
because he is already exhibiting many of the traits of a successful teammate and leader.

It is clear to me as I hope it is to you that this young man , Candido Vazquez, is an exceptional candidate, one that would
contribute greatly to any academic program. I wholeheartedly recommend him and wish him the very best in all future
endeavors.
Sincerely,
Aaron Akwaboah
