Get to know more about television

Television (TV) is
a telecommunication medium for transmitting
and receiving moving images that can
be monochrome (black-and-white) or colored,
with or without accompanying sound.
"Television" may also refer specifically to
a television set, television program, or television
transmission.
Commercially available since the late 1920s, the
television set has become commonplace in
homes, businesses and institutions, particularly
as a vehicle for advertising, a source of
entertainment, and news.

Electronic television was first successfully

demonstrated in San Francisco on Sept. 7, 1927. The
system was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth, a 21year-old inventor who had lived in a house without
electricity until he was 14. While still in high school,
Farnsworth had begun to conceive of a system that
could capture moving images in a form that could be
coded onto radio waves and then transformed back
into a picture on a screen.
