IF YOU WERE TO USE CIRCLE TIME ACTIVITY IN YOUR CLASSROOM,

HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT DOING IT? DO YOU ANTICIPATE ANY
PROBLEM?

I am teaching Level 1 class in SK Tombongon Kota

Kinabalu. Almost every day my Level 1 class have at least
one circle time in their daily schedule. My Year 1 class is only
13 pupils, my Year 2 class is only 8 pupils and my Year 3 class
is only 4 pupils. My school is categorizing as SKM (Sekolah
Kurang Murid). It is easy to do circle time activity in each class
because it have less pupils and the class have enough space
for the pupils to do their circle time activity.
If I am going to do circle time activity in my class, first of all
I will make sure that my circle time activity should reflect the
needs and interests of the pupils in my class. Then I have to
make sure that I have prepared space that I use every day for
circle time. I give chance to each pupil to choose their specific
spot to sit with enough space so that they do not have to touch
one another.
I usually do the circle time activity in classroom when I do
reading activity, playing games that related to the topic I teach
and sing a song activity. The pupils clap their hands or jump out
happily while playing flashcard games. When the pupils sing

songs or use rhymes they can do the hand motions or

movements in the circle time activity.
I did not anticipate any big problem while doing this circle
time activity in my every class. It is only small problem like not
enough time to do the activity and I cant do the activity
because I had to attend meeting at PPD.
