STATE ojMINNESOTA

WHEREAS:

In 1962, one of the most recognized and enduring rock bands of all time, the
Rolling Stones was started in London by schoolmates Mick] agger and Keith
Richards; and

WHEREAS:

The Rolling Stones have spent decades traveling the globe - playing hundreds of
sold out shows before millions of fans; and

WHEREAS:

The Rolling Stones still claim the status, "The World's Greatest Rock n Roll
Band" more than 50 years later; and

WHEREAS:

The Rolling Stones remain among the most beloved musical acts of all time with
41 "Top 40 Hits", 23 "Top Ten Hits", and 8 Billboard "Number One Hits" in the
United States; and

WHEREAS:

The Rolling Stones has played in Minnesota ten times dating back to 1964, and
will play an eleventh concert in Minnesota at TCF Bank Stadium- having
performed in Excelsior, Bloomington, Minneapolis, and Saint Paul; and

WHEREAS:

We come together on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, to honor The Rolling Stones, one
of the most influential and inspiring rock bands in history.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARK DAYTON, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim

Wednesday, June 3, 2015, as:

THE ROLLING STONES DAY

in the State of Minnesota.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State
of Minnesota to be affixed at the State Capitol
this 2nd day of June.
