Number the Stars Literary Analysis
Have you ever heard of the book Number the Stars ? Its about a 10 year-old
girl named Annemarie, has to pretend her Jewish friend ,Ellen, is her sister ,to
protect her from the Nazi soldiers. She goes through a series of events with the
soldiers . Annemarie always wonders what life would be like without the soldiers.
Annemarie ,Ellen, and Kirsti ,Annemaries little sister ,go on an adventure.
There are many scenarios were Annemarie is with soldiers such as this case,
On page #2 ,paragraph 4 , Annemarie and Ellen are stopped by a soldier, on the
corner of the street. He asks them why they are running? Annemarie tells him that
she is racing her friend! Kirsti comes running up and looks at Annemarie ,then to
the soldier. The soldier looks at Kirsti then lifts up one of her curls , Kirsti does not
like the idea of that ,she pushes his hand and says dont touch my hair! He says he
reminds her of his own little girl. Then Annemarie turns and walks home with Ellen
and Kirsti by her side.
This book was a very good book to read. I hope you get a chance to read it
