Bookmark Corner Mobile Corner Library
Display and Work Shop. This week is the
perfect chance to the students to inspire
them to improve their own skills and love
of reading, writing and knowledge. In my experience in this week I had
so much fun by bought stuff of popular UAE Animator.

RKWC Business Students Showcase Research Initiatives

RKWC Semester-4 Business students showcased their research projects on January 13, as
part of their Research Methods class requirement, under the supervision of Dr.Samah
Khalil. The research program Include:

Masdar Institute of Science & Technology as a case study of successful

application of renewable energy in the UAE and its future implications
Why UAE is still behind in the application and uses of E-commerce, finding
that trust and security issues to be main
deterrents to UAE Nationals using the Internet
for shopping purposes

The increasing rate of divorce among

UAE couples, finding that lack of respect is one
of the main issues that leads to divorce

The uses of colour to attract customers

to a store, finding that retailers use colours that
present their specific product and attract
specific target markets

, It was a great experience. We learnt a lot about doing professional research. For
example, how to write a good literature review, the difference between qualitative and
the quantitative research, and how to collect data that for each type. Even though we
faced some difficulties, in overall, we really enjoyed working in teams and achieving good

What Bother Us!

As for any newsletter, commonly the best way to begin with is sharing the main concerns inside our
society of Girls higher collage of technology. As for any student who spend most of her daily time
in college, the best college most be the second home and the best place which can provide the
ultimate care and the highest and best quality of everything. When the girls were interviewed,
they were asked to talk freely about their biggest and nightmare in the college which made them
disappointed and not satisfied with the care been given.
The first issue most of the student agreed on is the hygiene of the canteen which became the
biggest nightmare of the student who recently has no trust on people who should be responsible
on cleaning and ensuring the best quality to be provided in daily base. With the number of
creative student, a small project can be established in that yard, and with the reference to the
budget provided for canteen, a new contract with will-known caf and restaurants can
guarantee the trust and happiness of student.
The second issue that concerns the students is the lack of events to be done in the college during
the year comparing with the sister colleges in the other cities and with the rare of events there is no
even announcement ahead of time to allow us to be ready and even participate. College event
can be modified by special decoration and special touch which make it more fun and better to
participate too. A simple email and professional posters can create a sense of the even that make
the student well prepared and even participate by their creative ideas to make that even day
happen.
The third issue is that most of the student had no clue about the new professors who join the
collage. The fourth issue is that most of students feel lonely in their college as there is no wide ears
to listen to their problems and their issues. Although there is student service who should listen and
act fast to support the students, the actions or responds are weak or even no action which make
the students in bad situation and negatively push the, toward not trusting the judgment of the
college.
The last but not the least, is about the media students who would love to have the full support of
the college to arrange them to attend the media event in our country as UAE is the media mother
holder and all special and exclusive events to be prepared in this peaceful place. Extra care and
focus in this point which need extra care of our college managements who can provide the
required support for this matter. A lot of concerns been raised and highlighted from the students
during the interview which vary from important point or normal issue which raise the concern how
to improve our second home and how to make it a better place to study from the first year tell the
graduation time.

Lets see what Mr. Gregory say!

Greg hall is a Canadian man who decided to do something
different and teach in different country, hes kind of stuck
between two, hes done a lot of teaching, and hes done a lot
of video production. So, luckily at some point he got to do it
together and he enjoy teaching, video production and working
with HCT students.

1. When did you come to RAK and start worked in HCT?

The first time I came in 1997 , and I stayed for 5 years and I went
back to Canada in 2002 and I taught video production again
in Canada for 7 years after that and my wife one day she said
she want to come back so we came back and Ive back now
from 6 years

2. What the changes that you hope to see it in college?

It interest to see the first bachelor degree class graduated and

kind interest to see what kind of job they will have .We need to
do something for help them between the college and working,
I think a lot are going to need to working free-lance and
consulting and I think they gonna need some help to do that.
So, I think one of thing to do it show student how to do that and
support them on that

3. As a media teacher, what you want strongly to see it improve in

media major?

I want to see students working hard for making video or doing

production. Because the country need that, now it just a
beginning to get Emirate films and we need more Emirate films

RKWC Students Toilet
There are many
students start to
complain about the
toilet because it so
dirty and there is no
cleaner to clean it
constantly. Also,
there are no tissue to
use it when we wash
our hands.

Canteen Corner
Food Corner is the
second biggest
problem in RKWC
because we have
large amount of
students and the
canteen is so small.
Also, there is no
another places to let
students set on it. In my
opinion, I think that
they should decide to
build big building in
that empty area and
open more different
Restaurants & Cafs.
