Philanthropy by the Poor

This chapter outlines an organization established in Uganda called Restore Leadership that is
helping to give back in several ways. Created by Bob Goff, an American lawyer, the organization
primarily focuses on providing middle and highs school education to those in poverty and
conflict. However the organization also workers to empower the youth within its program. This
is done by having them sell crops to pay for tuition, engage in public service projects, and even
raise money for at-risk boys in American. All of these methods, but the last especially is used to
teach the children that they can give back and are not a charity case. Giving to children in
America also helps to break down the barriers of geographic poverty and address the fact that all
people need help no matter where they live. Bob Goffs organization has helped many students
in Uganda reach heights they might never have thought possible.

2. are we creating a single-story?
