Materials:
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercer-ized Crochet Size 30 White, Ecru, or Boilfast solid or shaded colors.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7, 8 or 9.
Ch 22, turn. 1st row: 1 s c in 5th st from hook, * ch 5, skip 3 sts, 1 s c in next, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 6, turn. 2nd row:
1 s c in 1st ch-5 loop * ch 5, 1 s c in next loop, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: To form scallop, 1 s c in 1st s c
(to form small ring) ch 3, turn. 8 d c in ring just formed, turn. * 1 p, 1 s c in next, and repeat from * to end of shell (8 ps in all). This
completes scallop. Ch 1, 3 d c in 1st ch-5 loop, * ch 1, 3 d c in next loop, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 6, turn. 4th row: 1 s c
under 1st s c, * ch 5, 1 s c under next s c, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 6, turn. 5th row: 1 s c in 1st ch-5 loop, * ch 5, 1 s c
in next loop, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 6, turn. 6th row: Same as 2nd row. 7th row: Same as 3rd row. Noteafter
making 8 d c, make 1 s c in 1st p of shell, to join this scallop to previous scallop, then turn and make p and s c to finish scallop.
Then ch 1, 3 d c in 1st ch-5 loop, * ch 1, 3 d c in next loop, and repeat from * 3 more times. Ch 6, turn. Repeat from beginning of
4th row for desired length.
