Happy New Year Fourth Grade Families!
It is with great pleasure, that I welcome each of you to Fourth grade. I trust that your
holiday break was enjoyable. Now that the New Year, has begun, and new faces and challenges
are upon us. I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Ms. Sands. I have more than fifteen years' of teaching at the elementary and
middle school levels. In addition, to six years' providing administrative and support services for
middle school students. I am, an innovative,seasoned educator with a track record of success. I
am experienced in meeting the needs of students and providing quality instruction. I promote a
positive learning environment and encourage students to achieve at their highest level beyond
expectations!
We will explore many different adventures in writing and science including, dinosaurs
and fossils. Students will be involved in Hands on scientific investigations, experiments,field
trips and technology. All students are expected to organize and maintain a science notebook and
a writing portfolio.. Ultimately, students will become capable, confident, and responsible
individuals.
In order to help facilitate a productive learning environment students should continue to
demonstrate good citizenship and follow school and classroom rules, as well as expectations. I
am looking forward to a productive school year.

Enclosed is a packet of classroom information and an informal questionnaire. The questionnaire
will be kept confidential and will help me better prepare for teaching your child. It has been a
