DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Assignment 3: Changes in Daylight

OBJECTIVE:
Students will observe the different effects of light on an object through the day, and note the changes.
DIRECTIONS:
On a sunny day (weekends work best), take the time to shoot the same object from the same location but at different times of the day. For
example, 7 am sun rise 9-10 am Late morning sun, noon Sun at its highest point in the sky 2-3 pm Mid-afternoon sun 5 pm sunset.
Document the date and time in each box.
Copy and paste each photo the box in order that it was taken. You will need to shrink the photo in size to fit the box.
Observe how the sun casts light on to objects and creates shadows differently on and around the object. Note any color differences in your photos
as the light changes as it is filtered through the atmosphere.
Email completed document to marni.oberpriller@stpaul.k12.mn.us and titled light & shadow YOUR NAME.
