Early Settlers

The first Early settlers visitors sail on the Mayflower at 1620.
The Mayflower has 102 people on it .31 people were sailor .Diseases
like typhus and cholera were common .
They spread easily on ships .Typhus caused a high fever ,bad
headache , and dark rash .Cholera spreads in dirty water . It caused
vomiting and diarrhea .In 1787 there was 10,000 people in
Canada .In 1812 there was 70,000 people .In 1842 there
were450,000 in Canada .

Settlers form Britain crossed the Atlantic
Ocean on wooden sailing ships .Than they
continued in a steamboat. After that many of
them rode in a river on bateaux .After they
went in bateaux rich settlers ride in
stagecoach. Poor settlers had to walk.

There was a baby on the ship named Peregrine


White .He was born in 1620.His parents was
William White and Susaring.

The settlers left Britain because they were poor. They


could not find work and had little work. Most people
rented land and they landowners forced them of the
land. British got land by exchanging something
called treaties.
