    child,howshecaresfor,teaches,andformshim,theprinciplesthatsheinstillsinhim,the
    attitudethatshedemandsofhim,allofthisiscrucialforthenationalhealth,foraGerman
    morality,andfortheunifiedoverallmindsetofthefuturenation.
    Somethinktheycanarguethatthepurelypracticalpartofmotherhoodtrainingforexample
    thecareofnewbornsisindependentofpoliticsandworldviewandisnotinfluencedbythem.
    Butthisisonlypartiallytrue.Thefollowingmayserveasanexample:Inthepostwarperioda
    realmaniaprevailedinclinicsandinstitutionstokeepprematurebabiesorinfantswiththemost
    serioushereditarydiseasesaliveforashorterorlongertimeinincubatorsandwiththemost
    sophisticatedmeasures,eventhosebabieswhosechancesforafulllifeeverydoctorjudgedas
    nexttonothing.Theseexperimentscostgreatamountsofthenationalwealth,whileinthe
    homesoftheunemployed,normalchildrendiedfromalackofbarenecessities.
    Acompletechangeofopinionhasoccurredinthisarea,asnowonlythefunctional,realistic
    principlesofthestateareinforce,astatethatexaminesandtreatstheindividualaccordingto
    hisvalue.Sointhewholeprojectofmotherhoodtrainingthereisscarcelyacomponentwhose
    basicorientationandobjectivesarenotformedbyNationalSocialism.ThetrainingofGerman
    womenforthecallingofmotherhoodcannotbeconfinedtotheofficialcourses,whichare
    offeredforthispurposebytheGermanWomensOrganisation,norcanitbelimitedtothe
    educationofthenationsyouth,providedbytheLeagueofGermanGirls.Acomplete
    educationaldevelopmentandpermeationofthewholenationcanonlysucceedifallresponsible
    maternallyorientedwomenfeelimpelledtoinstructandactivelyhelptheirsisters.
