San Francisco is proud to host over 75 consulates representing the governmental
interests of virtually all the major countries of the world. Additionally, many trade
commissions representing countries, provinces and even cities have established
offices in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
San Francisco is also home to many international business organizations that
provide a bridge from San Francisco to overseas markets and facilitate business
connections that enhance our citys international economic outlook.

SFAsia
San Francisco is a primary destination for foreign direct investment from Asia.
With an Asian American population of 33%, and Sister City relationships with
Shanghai, Osaka, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh and Manila, San Francisco is uniquely
positioned to leverage deep economic, cultural and academic ties with Asia.
SFAsia builds on the momentum of ChinaSF to tap opportunities in rapidly
growing Asian markets. Created as a public-private partnership between the
Mayors Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) and the San
Francisco Center for Economic Development (SFCED), SFAsia assists Asian
companies to set up, succeed and grow in the city. SFAsia also supports San
Francisco-based companies looking to expand in Asia.
