A One Act Play by Brittney Haynes

Character #1: Saysha


(Doesnt like germs at ALL. Especially by her face. If you touch her its most likely she will fight you.)
What they want: They want to fight to fight someone.
Secret they wont share: She has eczema.
Character #2: Briana
(Sayshas best friend. She knows about Sayshas secret.)
What they want: She wants to stop the fight and keep peace.
Secret they wont share: Shes in love with Drake.
Character #3: Tamia
(Is not aware of how annoying she is. She smack cams Saysha during the trip.She doesnt feel like it was a big
deal. She doesnt know about Sayshas secret.)
What they want: To turn up on the trip.
Secret they wont share: Shes a lesbian and likes Saysha.
Character #4: Drake
(Brianas boyfriend. He doesnt know about the secret.)
What they want: To play Brianas as her boyfriend to get closer to Saysha.
Secret they wont share: He likes Saysha. Hes playing Briana.
Main Event
During the overnight trip to Florida Sea World, the girls are in the hotel. While Saysha and Briana single
themselves out from the noisy group of girls hey talk about Sayshas dating life. Tamia watches Saysha in
boredom. She feels she looks so much better when shes turnt up so decides to spice things up. She smack
cams her with lotion. Bam! The reaction is crazy.
Setting
The setting is Seaworld in Florida. The school took a trip there to learn about life and to enjoy sea the
last few days of their junior year.

Scene 1
BRIANA
So I was saying, its been 20 minutes in the hotel room and I miss my bae.
(Brianna looks through her phone to make a text message.)
SAYSHA
(Saysha Brushes her hair while looking while looking in the mirror.)
Well at least you got a bae, Im sadly.. SINGLE.
(Ding !)
BRIANA
(Brianas phone rings as she receives a text message.)
I offered you many jawns but you say there not good enough.
(Saysha and Briana pause as they hear lots of noise in the other part of the hotel room.)
SAYSHA
They sound like theyre having fun but I dont care to be around them....
BRIANA
So. Im not fun? Im.
SAYSHA
(Interrupting)
No! You're very fun, but right now were talking about boys, (Briana goes back on her phone.) so when we talk
about boys, you talk about your bae, and I feel like a third wheel even though hes not here.
(Ding! Ding!)
SAYSHA
(Angrily)
See! Are you even listening to me ?
BRIANA
(Blushing to the message she received.)
Ummm
(Distracted while she types her last few words back to who shes texting.)
Yeah.. It sounds like there having fun up there.
SAYSHA
(Disgusted)
I wasnt even talking about that! What ever Briana you're full of it (Sh*t).
BRIANA

( Feeling bad, while smiling.)
You love me though.
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
SAYSHA
(Screaming.)
Ughhhhh!!!!
(Saysha walks away into the other girls room.)
TAMIA
(Giggling)
Hey ugly.
SAYSHA
(giggling sarcastically)
Girl you know, Im not ugly, and eww this room is a mess, what are you guys doing?
TAMIA
We are just turning up this room is not even messy, bout to pull pranks on people you with it?
SAYSHA
Nah, Im good, be careful though, you dont wanna get in trouble or caught up in a brawl with someone.
TAMIA
Im dont care, were just playing anyways.
SAYSHA
Okay well keep me out of it!
TAMIA
(smirks)
Mhmm.
SAYSHA
So what do you plan on doing
TAMIA
Well we looked at some videos maybe the scare challenge or something.
SAYSHA
Just keep it down a little but, too because you guys were mad loud.

TAMIA
Okay mother
SAYSHA
(Giggling)
Okay, Im going to check out and see what everyone else is doing.
(Saysha walks away)

(The girls laugh and snicker as they plan their pranks.)

Scene 2
BRIANA
(On the phone.)
Hey baby, whatchu doing?
Better not be doing nothing bad.
Im just laying on the bed. Saysha just left me and got mad at me
(Chuckles)
Nothing! I was just playing with her why you on her side.
Yeah, mhmm, whatever babe.
I wasnt getting jealous.
I miss you!
I know weve only been gone for a lil but I still miss you!
I dont know you could get in BIG trouble.
Hold on Im going to check to see if any teachers by the door or in the hallway.
(The conversation is paused while Briana checks the hallway and door to see if she could sneak her boyfriend
in.
Its clear just come. Ill hide you.
Okay
(Briana waits by the door for Drake to come thru. Rushingly she pulls him in.)
BRIANA
Go! Hurry up. Our Room is over there. Get under the sheets.
DRAKE
Damn no hi?
BRAINA
(smirking)
Shutup! I just spoke to you on the phone like seconds ago.
DRAKE

Im just playing with you, yall got the big room, huh, with the bathroom in it.
BRIANA
Yes! You wouldnt believe the struggle me and Saysha went through to get it. As soon as they let us get inside,
we ran to find the best room.
DRAKE
So Sayshas still out?
BRAINA
Yup. Shes been somewhere for like 15 minutes.
DRAKE
Have you seen the other part of this hotel, its huge. There is a pool, arcade, gym, and other stuff, me and the
boys checked it out.
BRIANA
(With an attitude.)
You could have asked me if you could go.
DRAKE
Briana. Seriously. I just went to look around, Im not cheating, youre my girl not my mother.
BRIANA
Whatever.
(Saysha walks in.)
SAYSHA
Hey. (Pause until she sees Drake.) WOAH, Omg how did you get him in?
BRIANA
I just got him to sneak in, (throwing shade) he already sneaked into other parts of the hotel apparently.
DRAKE
(Annoyed)
Ugh Briana, Hey Saysha.
SAYSHA
Hey, so the teachers said we will meet in the center room at @6:00. Its 5:15 so you might want to go in like 25
minutes just to be on the safe side.
DRAKE
Yeah.
SAYSHA
(Teasing.)
You dont seem to happy to go. You gonna miss your baby.

DRAKE
No, Im going to only miss you she acting up.
(Briana is mad with him. There is a long pause.)
BRIANA
Saysha maybe youre right, I am a bad person.
(Briana walks away.)
SAYSHA
Drake, seriously, you know shes sensitive, why would you say that? She going to take it as if you like me.
DRAKE
Im bothered by the way she acts towards me to, its annoying that she takes everything seriously or everything
I do is bad.
SAYHA
Well.
DRAKE
(Interrupting)
Well, maybe if I had a girl like you whos cool and understanding I would be happier.
SAYSHA
(Awkwardly)
I dont think we should be having this conversation.
DRAKE
I understand.
SAYSHA
Yeah
DRAKE
Last thing though by the way, you earlier when you said She will take it as if I like you. Well between me and
you, maybe I do
(Saysha is quiet, she doesnt know how to respond.)
DRAKE
Well imma go.
SAYHA
Yeah, I tell you left, be careful dont get caught.
DRAKE

(Saysha looks around for Briana. Eventually she finds her in the center room.)
SAYSHA
Briana! Come On!
BRIANA
I just want to be left alone.
SAYSHA
Nope, not from your best friend. You're going to talk to me!
BRIANA
I cant believe he would say that!
SAYSHA
You guys love each other, you were mad at each other, I dont think he meant what he said.
BRIANA
I dont know.
(They start walking back to their room.)
SAYSHA
No! I do know, I trust me, as you best friend I would never allow for that to happen.
BRIANA
Really?
SAYSHA
Yeah its girl code.
BRIANA
(Sighs.)
Yeah your right. We should get ready to go I guess.
SAYSHA
I have to fix this I hate to see you like this. Cheer up!

(Briana and Saysha get ready to make there way to Seaworld for there special presentation. All the juniors that
attended the trip will be there, Saysha hope to fix Brianas and Drakes issue but doesnt know what to do about
what Drake told her. She worried if a true friend would tell her best friend that her boyfriend of 4 months likes
her. She wonders if she should even take him seriously.)

Scene 3
[They are at the cafeteria part of Seaworld.]
(Saysha tries to fix up the relationship between Drake and Briana.)
SAYSHA
So, are you going to talk to him?
BRIANA
I dont know.
SAYSHA
Come on, you guys are meant to be you cant do this, I dont care how you feel, Ill fix it.
(Saysha walks over to Drake)

SAYSHA
Hey, you need to speak to her.
(Saysha gestures Briana to come)
DRAKE
Okay, but i dont want any drama.
SAYSHA
You guys need to talk it out so im gonna leave, and if you cant do that I will have to become Dr. Phil.
(Saysha walks away.)
BRIANA
Did you really mean those words?
DRAKE
No, actually, I didnt mean it I was just really mad, Im sorry.
BRIANA
Its ok and if you really have feelings for her would you tell me?
DRAKE
Yeah, but I wouldnt want to hurt you, and I wouldnt even catch feelings for another girl, cause youre my
number one.

BRIANA
(blushes)
Awww thats really sweet.
I missed you babe.
DRAKE
I missed you too, what you guys do at the hotel after I left?
BRIANA
Nothing much, we eventually got ready to go, and I was just really sad about what happened but Saysha
helped me out.
DRAKE
Yeah, shes a really good person, but not to that point where I really like her.

BRIANA
Thats why shes my bestfriend.
DRAKE
And my bestfriend, too.
(Saysha walks over.)
SAYSHA
So..
BRIANA
(Smiling)
We are good.
DRAKE
Yeah thanks Dr. Phil
Did you guys enjoy the show?
BRIANA
It was cool. But I cant wait for the amusement park part of Seaworld tomorrow.

SAYSHA
Yeah its going to be litt, I just dont want those germy animals touching me.
BRIANA
They are in water like 24/7, how can they be dirty.
SAYSHA
The water is dirty do you know how much germs are in there.
DRAKE
Seriously.
SAYSHA
Yeah animals pee, like eww, cmon.
BRIANA
You're just a germaphobe because who thinks of all of that?
SAYSHA
I do.
DRAKE
So then why do you eat animals? You eat seafood right?
SAYSHA
Yeah I do but I just hope that its clean, I always observe my food. And that is one of the purposes of grace. To
make sure you food is clean.
DRAKE
Yo, there is this ride I saw that looks so wicked but I dont know if Ms.Germaphobe would want to go, It like a
360 ride and its way high and it spins you a little bit in the water with the mantas. It called the Manta.
SAYSHA
Oh I thought I was Dr.Phil, now I am Ms.Germaphobe. You guys have tendises too.
DRAKE
Well..
(Interrupts)
SAYSHA
Well nothing. Mr.Stupid.

DRAKE
Im stupid? Babe am I stupid?
BRIANA
Well you could be sometimes, like earlier.
SAYSHA
Yeah, and I love you bestfriend but you could be Ms.Sensitive, I understand that things could be said but not
everything is meant to be taken seriously.
BRIANA
Yeah whatever, I guess we all have flaws.
(The supervisor yells out, Ten more minutes till we go home for nighttime.
SAYSHA
Yes! Just ten more minutes of me third wheeling.
(Briana and drake laugh. They all walk together back to the bus.)
BRIANA
Okay so text me when you reach the hotel.
SAYSHA
Wait you know how I feel about selfies. Briana your phone we got to take pictures.
BRIANA
Oh my gosh here.
(Briana hands Saysha her phone as they take pictures.)
SAYSHA
Aye.
Okay next one.
Hold on my eyes were closed.
Eww I dont like that one.
Lmao look at Drakes face.
Yass Briana.
Aye we lit.
(The supervisor tells the girls they have to go.)
BRIANA
(Kisses Drake)
See you tomorrow baby.
DRAKE
Okay babe.

Scene 4
(They return to the hotel doing nothing much, while the girls are still planning their tricks.)
SAYSHA
Had fun? Send me the selfies.
BRIANA
Yeah it was lit, thanks for helping me and him make up, ill send you the selfies right now.
SAYSHA
No worries i was afraid i had to become Dr. Phil.
(Saysha gets flashbacks of what Drake said to her, she wonders if shes a true friend by not telling Briana.)
BRIANA
Do you hear how loud Tamia and the girls are?
SAYSHA
Yeah I hear them coming, lets just pretend like were sleeping.
(Tamia and the girls see Saysha and Briana and think that they are sleeping.)
TAMIA
Im about to do it.
BAM!
(Saysha wakes up out of her pretend sleep and is puzzled)
SAYSHA
What the hell is wrong with you.
(Tamia laughs)
SAYSHA
So you think this is funny?
(Sayshas face gets red and frustrated)

BRIANA
Saysha calm down.
SAYSHA
NO Im really about to smack her, Im very pissed and you know how i feel about people touching me and
germs.
TAMIA
Seriously it was just a prank, its not a big deal you know I was doing them.
SAYSHA
I told you from the start do not do this, what if i was allergic to that.
TAMIA
Okay Im sorry, whatever!
SAYSHA
Im getting my smack back and maybe even more.
(Saysha ties her hair up preparing to fight.)
BRIANA
Saysha calm down, its okay.
SAYSHA
Its not. I could break out any minute now.

BRIANA
Wait, huh? Why?
TAMIA
I wouldnt want you to get hurt beautiful.
SAYSHA
Shutup!

(Saysha swings at Tamia hitting her in the face. Tamia hits back but the forces of Saysha hits are hard.)
BRIANA
Hello help me break it up!
(Briana and the girls pull the girls off of each other. Briana has Saysha in her arms wrapped tightly, the girls
hold Tamia.
BRIANA
Move her, get her out! Go back to yall side!
(Saysha runs in the bathroom.)
(The supervisors rush in the room asking if everything was okay, while Briana helps play everything off like
nothing even happened.)
(Saysha walks back to the room when they leave.)
BRIANA
(Surprised)
Omg why is you face getting red rashes.
Did she hit you in the face that hard.
SAYSHA
That s what I have to tell you. I have eczema.
BRIANA
Aww, wow, why didnt you tell me?
SAYSHA
Its so embarrassing, sometimes it looks worse than this, this is mild damage.
BRIANA
Are you going to be okay?
SAYSHA
Yeah I walked with prescription cream, it should hopefully clear my face by the morning.
BRIANA
So thats why your such a germaphobe.
SAYSHA
Yeah, I havent anyone about it. Only my close family knows.

BRIANA

Hey, you blessed, dont feel down at least you dont have asthma and people with asthma risk death. Like
asthma attacks.
SAYSHA
Your so lucky you dont have neither.
BRIANA
Yeah but if you didn't tell me I would have never knew.
SAYSHA
Thanks
BRIANA
And think about it. with prescription, makeup, and many other things, it can be covered, but other things people
have cant. Asthma is mostly uncontrollable.
SAYSHA
I cant believe that this girl would just smack me, with that lotion, and I told her from before not to do it.
TAMIA
Yeah, and I was there, too, how come I wasnt smacked? Even though I would have probably had to whoop
her to but yeah, she probably doesnt like you.
SAYSHA
I could careless. She better not say nothing to me or else I just might have to go 0 to 100 again, real quick.
(Giggling)
(Brianas phone rings.)
BRIANA
(On the phone)
Hold on .
SAYSHA
Alright I am just going to go to sleep, Ive had enough for the night, and you getting to speak to your bae
probably all night so good night.
BRIANA
(Giggling)
Okay goodnight
(Answers phone.)

Scene 5
(Its noon and they soon are leaving to Seaworld.)
SAYSHA
What you wearing?
BRIANA
My shorts and a tank top I aint getting cute for no rollercoasters to mess it up.
SAYSHA
I was worried I would have to wear a hoodie in the sun to cover up the rashes but they actually went away.
Thank God.
BRIANA
Yeah what you wearing.
SAYSHA
I dont know maybe a crop top with shorts, and plaid shirt tied around.
Like this.
(Saysha shows Briana a picture on her phone.)
BRIANA
Oh yeah thats cute.
SAYSHA
Yeah thats my cousin.
BRIANA
Shes pretty.
SAYSHA
The last time I spoke to her is when she needed help with friendship problems.
BRIANA
What happened?
SAYSHA
Well her close friends boyfriend liked her and she didnt know whether to tell her friend or not.
BRIANA
I would have told her, avoid her looked stupid or getting played.
SAYSHA
I thought it would hurt her friends feeling or it would change their friendship if she told her something so I told
her not to.

BRIANA
You should have told her to speak up.
SAYSHA
It could ruin their friendship, like they couldnt ended up not talking anymore.
BRIANA
Are they still friends?
SAYSHA
Yeah, Ive seen recent pictures of them together on instagram.
BRIANA
Is her friend and her boyfriend still together.
SAYSHA
Yeah
BRIANA
Wouldnt she be afraid of him hitting on her.
SAYSHA
I dont know.
BRIANA
Oh
SAYSHA
Briana.
BRIANA
What?
SAYSHA
Its not a true story, and shes not my cousin. I asked you this because yesterday when you left Drake told me
he likes me and I didnt know whether to tell you or not.
( There is a long pause. )
BRIANA
But. But. Why, why didnt you tell me, so , so hes been playing me? And you let him?
SAYSHA
Briana I didnt know until yesterday, I didnt what to do. Im sorry.

BRIANA
Wow. He really a jerk, and to think I couldve trusted him. And you supposed to be my best friend. You didnt
even say anything. All the chances you had to bring it up. To say something. The people I thought would
always keep it 100. And Im sensitive right. No you people are just cruel!
SAYSHA
Im telling you know, whats the difference, I just found this crap out yesterday.
(As Briana finishes dressing she storms out to the bus.)
(The supervisor tells Saysha to hurry up and get on the bus.)
(Brianna and Saysha do not speak.)
(As soon as they reach Sea World Briana looks for Drake.)
(Brianna smacks Drake)
DRAKE
What the hell Briana, what was that for?
BRIANA
If found out you like SAYSHA right!
DRAKE
Who told you that?
BRIANA
Saysha did. You're so full of it.
DRAKE
Okay I do Briana, and Ive been going out with you to get closer to her but, I aint mean to hurt you.
BRIANA
Wow, (Shakes her head) Since you like her so much, have her, we are done!
(Briana walks away)
-------TAMIA
You look lonely, where is your bestie.
SAYSHA
Get away from me Tamia, I dont need any drama today.

TAMIA
Saysha, seriously, Im sorry and that coming from the deepest part of my heart.
I didnt mean for it to go that far.
SAYSHA
Seriously?
TAMIA
Yes.
SAYSHA
Its okay.
TAMIA
Can I sit?
SAYSHA
Sure
TAMIA
I was just playing around, if I could take back the situation I would Saysha, I just wanted to have fun especially
with you.
SAYSHA
Really? Then why didnt you just ask. You seemed like you was having enough fun with your friends.
TAMIA
I know but. but..
SAYSHA
But what?
TAMIA
(sighs)
Saysha I like you, Ive like you this whole school year, I think you are very pretty and cool, and I wanted to ask
you if you like girls.
SAYSHA
So you're a. Lesbian?
