IntrolWarm-up: Quick discussion about what was talked about last week. A bit of a refresher on what
we covered and how it will tie in with today's lesson.
Time: lA minutes max.

Knowledge Content/Activities: Going through a PowerPoint looking at some direct advertisements that
promote weight loss pills and advertisements that promote bulking up. Discussing why these ads could
be problematic for people. The language that they use and more. Once this had been discussed in detail
ask students if advertisements are also so blatant in promoting certain body images. This can bring up a
discussion about photo shop and how they change celebrity's appearances and we can go through the
rest of the PowerPoint and discuss the changes they notice in the photos.

come back together as group to discuss them.
Time:10 minutes

Close: Talk about our ideas for how to create a more positive body image and then discuss the project
we rvill begin next class which will be to create posters promoting a positive body image. Be sure to
think about for next class. We will review what we talked about and then we will get into groups when
we have class next.
Time:5-10 minutes

Differentiation: Discussion based, not really any wrong answers. Small group discussions in
