    Physical Science - Investigating Energy

    Using a pipe insulator and a marble you have 15 minutes to investigate energy. (This will be
    collected after 15 minutes!)

    THE CHALLENGE:
    GET THE MARBLE INTO THE CUP WITHOUT KNOCKING OVER THE CUP.

    RULES:
    1) THE BALL MUST COME STRAIGHT (HORIZONTALLY) OUT OF THE
    TUBE.
    2) THE TUBE MUST TOUCH THE FLOOR AT LEAST ONCE.
    3) YOU CANNOT KINK THE TUBE.

    When you complete the challenge:

    1) Draw what the tube looked like when you completed the challenge.

    2) Draw what the tube would look like if you wanted the marble to come out with the
    most speed?

    3) How does the height of the marble when it is dropped affect the speed at which it exits the
    tube?

    4) How does the height at which the marble leaves the tube affect the speed at which it exits the
    tube?
