On-going Assessment: Supporting Artifacts: readings, documents, projects, activities Mentor Information Final Rationale describing growth: (One of the big areas of growth was our mentoring program for new teachers. When | stepped into the role as administrator, | felt that we did not have anything in place to support our new teachers on staff. With that being said, | created Google docs to document our day to day routine, monthly happening notifications, and PLCs to collaborate with other teachers and gather new ideas for their classrooms. In fulure years, | plan to hold anew teacher inservice to better inform them of how our school operates throughout the year. The administrator understands, responds to, and interacts with the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context that affects schooling, Dispositions © Servant leader Respect for all persons Collaboration Honest Responsibility Belief that all students can learn Values learning Day to Day Routines: Kids arrive early = have something for them to do in the am Mass ~ When first bell rings get ready = Second bell is a last call - you should be on your way out - You lead them into church in one line / they genuflect when you do and then you sit in the pew behind them. - We leave church in order 6,5,4,3,2,1,K,4K - Grades 1-6 When you have parts Father will write on your board (grades 4-6) for servers otherwise you will need, announcer, 3 petition people, 3 thank you people - Grades 1-6 Watch gift schedule for if your children have gifts that day (Linda Z usually takes care of making this) You are in charge of creating your own schedule but need to work around specials, Father (extra special), Bluejay Time, Lunch and Recesses Lunch - When the bell rings at 11:45 we dismiss in class order starting with 4K. Just watch in the hall for the grade ahead of you to go and then you can go to wash hands and head downstairs. Pray together as a class (usually in your room but can happen after you wash hands) You can hand them lunch cards after they wash hands and send them down. You do not need to go downstairs with them. At 12:40 when the recess bell rings go and pick up the students from the back door. Walk your students to and from specials (exception for 5 / 6 grade - teaching responsibilty) Have a whistle for recess duty (once a week) In winter, older grade teacher goes to the church parking lot with 3-6. Younger grade teacher stays behind school with K-2. During other times of the year both teachers on duty can be anywhere (no assigned place to watch) For afternoon recess you do not need to pick up kids from back door. The teacher on duty will let them in. At the end of the day, the first bell signals walkers, pick ups, and bus buddies to be released. The second bell is for other bussers. All teachers stand in the entry to watch the dismissal of the busses (to show that your class is ready for the teachers on bus duty) ‘Save all parent pick up notes in large folder from office (turn in at the end of the year) Label all campbells soup/IGA/boxtops with student name and grade before turning in by office Field Trips: Make sure you plan ahead....last minute is never good! There is a “list of command” make sure you let principal, Father Suess, and lunch room know when there is a field trip that you are attending ‘September © MAP testing October ‘© Halloween Social - usually whole school movie ‘November December St. Nick up to grade level teacher if they give something to the kids Caroling to local nursing homes - grades 3-6 © make cards to hand out to residents Christmas play practice takes up lots of time (you are required to attend the night of too) Christmas cards for Father Suess usually the last church day before break © Each class makes a card and brings it up during offertory time (with gift people) at mass © Food Drive © Each student brings in a nonperishable food item - offers it up at offertory time from the pews we just file out (like communion) Christmas Party done in your own room January MAP testings 2nd round Computers for education Jump Rope For Heart - usually a presentation from the American Heart Association Catholic Schoot's Week - should be at Mass for kickoff and participate during the week Start selling tickets for Cake Walk February © St. Blaise - blessing of throats at the end of mass (community goes first) Cake Walk - Friday of Valentine's Day © you have assigned time that day and all schoo! raffle at the end of the day Valentine's Party - done in your room usually coincides with Cake Walk day ‘Ash Wednesday - sit closer together in mass...i's packed. Bring lenten promise sheets (from Father Suess) on Tuesday before. They will be collected at offertory time. March St Isidore the Farmer Novena - Father will tell when it starts. © bring a booklet to mass and say extra prayers afier o Father Suess leads © Father's Name's Day © make a card and one student brings it up at offertory time Kindergarten/4K open houses - welcome new families to school April It starts getting busy :) ¢ Holy Week - Thursday is Holy Day of Obligation = all teachers at mass Testing window for MAPs and title testing will begin Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts are up to the teacher's discretion to create Contracts are due May 15th End of the year *) make sure your room is cleaned out by the date specified by the principal Bulletin boards are up to you if you take them down or not but have all supplies off of the floor to make summer cleaning/floor waxing easier. Make note of inservice dates so you know when to be back Have a great summer! Ese
