TONE LIKES AND DISLIKES: I love how expressive his tone is, and how he plays the
whole piece with intensity. His fingers are incredibly quick and accurate.
EXPRESSION:Da Sol Kim plays the etude with much expression, and intensity. You can
really feel how he plays the piece, and his emotions are overwhelming every note.

he made no mistakes.

TITLE: Chopin Etude Op.25 No.11 in A-Minor
PERFORMER:Yundi Li
BIBLIOGRAPHY:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfHbr0h_pXQ
TONE LIKES AND DISLIKES:His tone is great, and the piano he plays on is of top
quality. I kind of dislike the very static sound of the piece when he plays it though.
EXPRESSION:His expression is great, but I have heard this piece played with more
emotion, and dynamics.
TECHNIQUE: Yundi Li is well known for his technique. He plays the peice exactly as
written, which is a really big task.

LISTENING #3

TITLE:Chopin Etude Op.25 No.5 in E-Minor

PERFORMER:Vladimir Horowitz
BIBLIOGRAPHY:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wWmYbMkOjo
TONE LIKES AND DISLIKES: Since this is an old recording, judging the tone is
difficult, but Horowitzs tone is great, and is played with much emotion.
EXPRESSION:Horowitzs expression is great as always, and he plays the piece with a
lot of emotional strength. He almost plays the piece warped with emotion.
TECHNIQUE:Horowitzs technique is superb, but even though he has excellent
technique he still plays songs that use more emotion than technique. His playing is
incredible even if he doesnt show his best technique.
