The document reflects on feedback received from an MST observation of a lesson on adding and subtracting multiples of 10 from 2-digit numbers. The teacher used a number line and showed different methods like place value and straws, but students struggled with the new methods. The observer noted the importance of thoroughly preparing lessons, considering each step, and bringing all students to the carpet to ensure attention during core instruction. The feedback helped the teacher learn to pay closer attention to necessary details when teaching.

My first lesson with my MST observation was about add and
subtract multiples of 10 and from a 2-digit number. I used technology to make my lesson more attractive. The teaching tool which I was relying on is the number line. So, my focus was on how to use it while we add or subtract (should we move toward or backward). I tried to variety my teaching strategies by showing different methods of adding and subtracting. For instance, I showed them how to add using the straws and the place value strategy. But, because this was a new method to them they didnt understand it easily. However, as my teacher said that I should prepare very well for the lesson which means that I should consider each step and check if it is going to work or not. What I received form my teacher feedback is that I should take care about each detail and present the lesson for myself before I do it at my classroom. Another important notice that my teacher pointed to is that I should bring all the students to the carpet during the core of the lesson. Because, doing that will make me sure that I got all of their attention and avoid having some children busy by playing. This is was an important thing which I learnt. Eventually, my teacher feedback helped me to open my eyes more for necessary details that I should take care about as a teacher.
