STUDENT IDS
Your student ID card is used to access all student services. After you have been in class for
one week, please visit the Admissions Office at any ACC campus to receive a photo ID.
You will need to show a current government-issued ID for this process. Your ACCeID is your
first initial and your ACC student number. For example, Fred Pearces ACC student number
is 9005348, so his eID is f9005348.

ASSESSMENTS
Formal and informal assessments are given throughout the course to see if our instruction
is benefitting students, including:
END OF TERM ASSESSMENT The end of term assessment covers the
learning goals of this course. Passing with an 80% shows a student is ready for the next
class.
TABE TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) progress tests help us follow up
on our placement testing and maintain funding to offer classes at no charge to students.
CLASS RULES
When you completed your online application, you agreed to follow the policies and
procedures described in the ACC Student Handbook:
http://www.austincc.edu/support/pdfs/studenthandbook13.pdf. You also received a copy of
the learners contract at the Adult Education Student orientation. In addition to these
policies and procedures, students should observe the following rules:

Be an active member of your classroom community.

Be respectful to others and our classroom

Work quietly and independently when asked.

Raise your hand during class when you have questions or


something to share.

NO use of electronic devices is allowed in the classroom, unless


directed by the instructor. Please silence your cell phone.

Remain in class during class time and for the entire class period.
Disrespectful and aggressive behavior is unacceptable and will result in
immediate removal of the students name from the roster.
ATTENDANCE POLICY

Students are expected to attend class every day. If attendance


falls below 75% or a student misses the first day of class without an excuse, the student
will be dropped from the class.

Be on time. Excessive tardiness may be counted as an absence.

CLASS ENROLLMENT FOR LATER TERMS


To register for the next term, you must be in good standing. Students in good standing
have progress tested and maintained at least 75% attendance. During the last week of
most terms, you will complete the End of Class Follow-Up and discuss your options with
your instructor.

EARLY WITHDRAWAL
If you cannot complete the term, notify your instructor(s). Check the Adult Education GED
calendar for upcoming registration opportunities.

PARKING PERMITS
Permits are available only for students who have class on a campus. Each student will be
issued one parking voucher per academic year. Parking permits must be hung from the
rear view mirror of your vehicle. Do not park in faculty/ staff, handicapped, or green
parking areas without a proper permit.
To Get a Parking Permit
1.
Go to this website: http://www.austincc.edu/locations/transportation-andparking/obtain-a-parking-permit.
2.
Click on Order Parking Permit Online.
3.
Enter your ACCeid and password (if you don't yet have them, get your
ACCeid and set up your password here: http://www.austincc.edu/acceid).
4.
Once you've logged in, click on Add/Edit My Vehicles.
5.
After entering your vehicle's information, click Go Back to My Vehicles.
6.
Print the page with your vehicle information on it and take it the campus
cashier's office along with your student ID card to pick up your permit.
BUS PASSES
Registered students in good standing can buy bus passes at the reduced price of $25. The
pass is good for the semester as long as you are in class. Find more information on the

LEARNING LABS: Free tutoring is available on most ACC campuses at the Learning Lab.
