Day 10:
EQ: How can knowledge of figurative language be demonstrated
through poetry writing?
Opening: Show My Friend poem from a previous student.
Mini Lesson: Review poem/song checklist. Review instructions for how to
use iMovie or Movie Maker to create the video or song version of their
poem.
Work session: Student will use their device to create their poems for the
presentation for tomorrow. This is also time for the teacher to check with
students for understanding and ensure requirements have been met.
Closing: Remind students of the poetry presentations to take place
tomorrow. Students will write down how they will share their poems
tomorrow on a ticket out the door. I will use this to determine how much
time we will need in class.
