This assignment gave me the opportunity to dig
deeply into the PLC process in our building and

Reflection
This process gave me the opportunity to evaluate our
Title I program and School Improvement Plan
through each of Blanksteins 6 principles, looking to
ensure success for all of our students through all
avenues including working alongside families and
community members.
Sharing methods for marketing districts gave us the
opportunity to learn how to truly market a district to
all stakeholders in an effort to shine a spotlight on all
of the points of pride of our district thereby working
to entice more families to enroll their children in our
school district.
Listening to teams present reviews of articles on
topics such as marketing, branding, financial issues,
school safety, crisis management, dealing with
media, and curriculum helped me to understand the
variety of ways that schools must interact with all
stakeholders and how they must be very careful to
respond to all situations.
Serve as Summer Reading Challenge coordinator for
all Davison elementary schools I was able to work
directly with staff, students, parents, and community
members to promote and encourage summer reading
for all elementary age students, thereby decreasing
the likelihood of summer learning loss.
Serve as Family Reading Night project coordinator
working with staff and stakeholder groups to
develop a successful parent involvement event
providing parents and students with a fun,
educational event aimed at strengthening the
connection between home and school.
Survey parents on satisfaction of Title I programs
and hold Title I parent meetings to share survey
results and educate parents on current Title I
programs. Look for suggestions and feedback from
stakeholders to improve Title I program.
