It is a step by step program that begins with teaching the sounds of English
and their corresponding letters, before moving onto spelling words,
constructing oral and written sentences and reading and comprehension.
A number of studies have shown that The Spalding Method produces
consistently higher reading scores in primary school aged children. It is suited
to children in primary school (K-6), English as a Second Language (ESL)
students and students with learning difficulties.
During therapy, the clinicians role will be to teach your child how to read, write
and spell in an interactive and fun way. Please note that each child learns at
their own rate, with motivation and continuous home practice being the key
factors involved in your child progressing through The Spalding Method.
