Sharing an Arts Skill Part D

What was the aim of your workshop?

To teach yr7 about arts award and ugly dolls. They also needed to produce their own coloured ugly
doll picture.

What resources did you create?

Torii and I created a mini introduction for us to read a starter where you had to guess the name of
8 different ugly dolls and a place for them to draw their ugly dolls. It also had a plenary. We asked
for pens and pencils for them to draw with.

What skill did you share? What did the students learn?
We taught them back stitching and a method for shading if you used a felt tip pen where you draw
little curves and wet them to create a shading effect.

Did the Year 7s enjoy your workshop? Why? What feedback did you get?
Most of the yr7s enjoyed our workshop sadly one thought it was boring because he didnt like
drawing. However the rest enjoyed the workshop and made good monsters. All our feedback was
good apart from one person because doesnt like drawing.

How would you improve your workshop next time? Give Examples.
Make a more exciting starter and make things more colourful and exciting by teaching them more
exciting new skills. I also think we should of said more about arts award.
