Stannah have installed a glass shafted two
stop passenger lift at Hampshires unique
science and technology centre, INTECH.
The centre is a hands-on exciting
learning experience with over 100 exhibits
for visitors to investigate.
The Stannah lift is both functional and
educational as it runs within a glass shaft,
so demonstrating its hydraulic technology
at the touch of a button. It crucially
provides access for disabled visitors to
both exhibition levels within the
impressive purpose built centre.

The Centre is set high on
Morn Hill just outside
Winchester. Installing a
passenger lift was essential
for the easy movement of
people around our building.
Our glass building
purposefully maximises the
natural light available from
our elevated geography so
the glass shafted lift fits
perfectly in its
environment. The bonus is
being able to view the
technology that drives the
lift a working exhibit we
couldnt do without!

structure-supported shaft making it possible to position them
almost anywhere. If space is limited the traditional motor room
can be replaced with a Motor Room Cabinet (MRC) that can be
recessed into an adjacent wall or even positioned remotely up to
8 metres away from the shaft on any level.
