students to have their eyes and ears open while I give
the instructions

Give instructions on how to plan poem and provide
examples of both planning sheet and own poem.

Have the students come up with 4 activities the person
the poem is about does and list them in the proper places
on planning sheet.
Instruct students to describe what the person does during
the activities and place description in proper place on
planning sheet.
Provide example of activities and descriptions
Inform students last column is about their dad (or who
poem is about) and description should be about that
person

Instruct students to come up with a title of their poem
Instruct students to both activity and description of
activity, from the planning sheet, to form sentences of the
poem.
Provide example of how to produce sentences form the
activity and description.
As a group, ask student who their poem is about and what
their favorite thing to do with that person is.
