There are 18 community colleges offering full course sequences in agriculture and natural resources. There are 33 community colleges that offer some courses in agriculture and natural resources. There are 202 full and part-time instructors at these institutions. While over, 7,596 full-time students, with at least 12 units of course work are enrolled in agriculture or natural resource programs. Pre-service Agriculture Education Certification Programs 5 universities offer pre-service agricultural education certification programs.
Economic Impact of Agriculture
The states 80,500 farms and ranches received a record $44.7 billion for their output in 2012. California remained #1 in the U.S. in cash farm receipts with 11.3% of the U.S. total. The state accounted for 15% of the national receipts for crops and 7.1% of the US revenue for livestock and livestock products.
