beam may happen due to the applied shear
stress exceeding its shear capacity.

1.Find the shear stress vEd in the section using the
formula :

2. Find the concrete shear Capacity from

Example 3. A reinforced concrete beam is


supported over 350mm square reinforced
concrete column at both ends. Design the beam
shear reinforcement to EC2 given:
The beam dimensions as shown below
The concrete fcK=40 N/mm2
The steel fyv =500 N/mm2
The ultimate uniformly distributed design load
=240 kN/m
The beam main reinforcement is as shown below
