BACKGROUND

In this workshop they melt down Aluminum scrap and recreate variety of products such as
cooking pans, aluminum grills, furniture and swings and launch it to the market.
Production Details
About Rs.100000 worth goods are made per day.
Furnace runs on both the electricity and furnace oil.
2 furnace oil barrels are used per day. ( Rs.8000x2 )
Lathe machines and most of other machines run on electricity.
Average of 12 workers gets paid Rs.1100-2800 for each depending on the task and
the number of items produced.

Raw material details


Company buys aluminum scrap from sellers.
1 kg of Aluminum scrap costs about Rs.150.

Stock details
Sufficient amount of Aluminum scrap is available at any time.
Completed cooking pans are stored in a 12x10 ft2 room.
Furniture and other products stored outdoor.

METHODOLOGY

Convincing the workers about the safety hazards, and showing them the necessary safety
precautions that should be taken immediately. Leaflets and wallpapers may come in
useful.
Explaining drawbacks of the currently used furnace, showing ways of optimizing the
efficiency of the furnace.
Finding buyers for Aluminium dross.
Forecasting the demand for the products through market surveys, researches and
questioners.
Put the owner of the shop in contact with technical and marketing experts.
