ACTIVITY

April 7, 2015
Class Data analysis:
1. Determine the
number of
students in
each class that
are proficient
according to
the grade
levels
consensus of
the criteria for
reading,
language and
math.
2.

Determine
percentage of
students at
benchmark.

STEPS
1. Review Grade Levels Consensus chart(s)
to determine criteria for proficiency.
2. Write the criteria for proficiency for
reading, language and math on the
worksheet for quarters 1, 2, 3 and 4.
3. Looking at your data, count the number
of students who are proficient for quarters
1, 2, and 3 and write in the number of
students proficient on the worksheet for
reading, language and math for your
class.
4. Write the number of students you have in
your class (class size) for each quarter.
5. Determine the percentage of students at
benchmark for each quarter for reading,
language and math by dividing the
number of students proficient by the total
number of students in your class for the
quarter.
6. Write the percentages in the appropriate
boxes in the Benchmark chart.
7. Identify what percentage more will be
needed in order to reach benchmark for
reading, language and math by
subtracting the percentage goal from your
quarters percentage met for each subject.
Write your percentage in the Benchmark
chart.
8. Determine the number of students needed
to meet benchmark for the next quarter by
multiplying the benchmark percentage by
the total number of students in your class.
Subtract this figure from the number of
students currently at benchmark for that
quarter.
9. Fill out the triangle for your class for
proficiency for reading, language and
math.
10. Homework: With your grade level,
identify strengths and weaknesses in tests
for reading, language and math. Revisit
grade levels consensus chart. Is your
consensus chart feasible or will changes
need to be made? Bring back your
worksheets to the next CLT.
