Design Topic: Closing the Gap- Using Technology to improve Coordinate Algebra EOC Scores Subject: Coordinate Algebra

Designer: Amy Couchigian Lawson

Grade: 9th grade

STAGE 1 DESIRED RESULTS

Unit Title: Incorporating Technology to implement learning modules that meet student needs on all levels.
Established Goals: Teachers will be able to effectively implement learning modules using Web 2.0 tools in order to
meet the needs of students on each level.
Understandings: Students will understand that
How to create learning modules to meet student needs at multiple levels determined by data.
Students will know:
How to create an online learning modules using Web 2.0 tools.
STAGE 2 ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE
Performance Tasks:

Using a Web 2.0 tool, create 3 individualized learning modules to meet the different learning
needs.
Create an assessment using a web 2.0 tool to assess student growth and understanding
Write a one page reflection about the lesson results

Key Criteria:

Create a online learning module using a Web 2.0 tool (ex: weebly or google pages)
You will need atleast 3 modules (one lower, average, and higher achieving module)
Create mini assignments to meet their level of understanding in the current standard
(ex. Kahn Acadamy/USA Test Prep/Learnzillion)
Create an assessment using a Web 2.0 tool that covers the current material
(An idea is to use the one you implemented in the previous weeks lesson)
This assessment will be used to determine growth
Write a one page reflection discussing the following topics:
How did you feel the implementation of the learning modules went
Student results and growth from the assessment
Thing you felt worked well/didnt work.
Things you would do differently next time.

STAGE 3 LEARNING PLAN

Summary of Learning Activities:

Participants will create 3 learning modules using a Web 2.0 tool. These learning modules will
be used to meet the lower level students, average student, and higher achieving students.
After implementing the modules students will be reassessed on the materials at the end of the
week. This assessment can be the one used previously or a new one that mirrors the previous
assessment. Compare results to show student growth. At the end of the lesson, write a
reflection that covers how the lesson went, assessment results, and any changes you would
make.
