The Cardiovascular System

By Ethan H

The cardiovascular system is a complicated system. It

involves the heart, lungs, arteries, veins and capalliers.
The purpose of the heart is to pump the blood around
the body. It needs to pump the blood to all body parts
from head to toe. You also need it to pump so all your
body parts get oxygen. The oxygen helps you live.
The non-oxygenated blood goes through the right
atrium and into the right ventricle. Then it goes through
the pulmonary arteries and into the lungs to get reoxygenated. After that it goes into the left atrium then
left ventricle and out the aorta and into the body to
supply tissues with fresh oxygen.
There are 4 valves within your heart to keep the blood
moving around the body. Theyre called tricuspid,
mitral, aortic and pulmonary valve and all open only
one way. Each valve opens and closes once per heart
beat (or second). A beating heart contracts and relaxes.
When It contracts its called Systole and Relaxes is
called diastole.
The heart is the centre of the
cardiovascular system which is the blood
system because its how the blood through
your body to give tissues oxygen.
