Background of USO
Six decades ago, President Franklin Roosevelt

conceived an organization--the USO


Purpose of reaching out directly from the
American people to those in military uniforms
who serve them.
Organization would serve as a link of

compassion and reassurance from the


ordinary citizen, that America cares,
remembers, and supports the service and
sacrifice of those who defend her.

Background:
UTDs Veterans of Dallas
Organization
Purpose:

to unite veterans, facilitate

transition from military to civilian


life, and advocate an environment
that encourages veteran success in
academics at The University of Texas
at Dallas.

Group Responsibility
Pedro Zevallos

Project manager. Involved in coordinating the event and


making sure event is set up properly as well as teams being
on the field on time. Making sure the schedule of events is
running on time.

Sammy Ng

Co-manager. In charge of communication with Marine


Recruitment Office, and making sure they know the time we
need the Humvee there, and are done with it. Timing the
teams on their attempts, as well as declaring the winner.

Kamesha Christopher

In charge of the Welcome team. Welcome team is responsible


for greeting the teams and giving the proper direction of the
event to the teams. Spreading word on social media
(Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) . Advertise on Orgsync (set up
event on Orgsync, and that well allow for email to be sent
from there)

Helping Kamesha in greeting the teams, and signing up


the teams, and also help to spread awareness and
information of the charitable organizations. Working with
the charity organizations on the profit raised.

Omar Alvarez

Contacting school newspaper to adverse the event


(a month before the event). Speak to Dean of
student affairs to green-light the event. Work with
the Sponsors to get the free tshirts, and the prizes
for the winners atleast three weeks before the
event. The day of hand out tshirts to the teams,
and give the prize to winners.
