I have had the privilege of knowing Lauren for over 10 years as a mentor to her in Aromas
4-H. In recent years, she has served as a Monterey County All Star, President, and she now
serves as an Assistant Sheep Project Leader. Through these positions of leadership, Lauren has
served as a positive role model and goodwill ambassador for the 4-H Program. I have enjoyed
watching Lauren grow into the young professional she is today.
Lauren is a model of servant leadership, and is others-centered. Her combined values of
benevolence and persuasiveness can often be witnessed in how she cares for those around her
through acts of service, while simultaneously influencing them in a positive direction. Lauren
is truly a treasure and a rare find amongst her contemporaries. It is wonderful that a person so
capable of bringing credit to herself, would rather bring credit to others.
Lauren has proven that life is more than achievements and has developed excellent
character traits that will help her throughout her life. She is honest, loyal, and carries a
moral sense of ethics beyond her years. Lauren is truly a role model for the teens in our
area and sets a very high example for all to see. Although Lauren would be successful in
any chosen career, I believe that she would be a fabulous teacher and especially in the field
of agriculture.
