Communities call for proactive wildfire funding

Concerned about increasing risks to communities from wildfires, editorial boards across the state are
calling for a more robust force to respond quickly and aggressively to wildfires.
Many have called on the state to fully fund the Washington State Department of Natural Resources
$4,455,000 funding request to increase firefighting capability to maintain Washingtons forests for
current and future generations, and to protect trust revenue and public safety. Below is a partial list of
