1. IntroducetheobjectivesofthedayandpresentGentlySleepsheetmusiconthesmart
board.Havethestudentsreviewnotenamesandsilentlyfingerthroughthesong.
2. Focusoncorrectrhythm.Pickstudentstocomeupandhighlighteachtypeofnote
(quarter,half,andeighthnotes).Colorcodethenotessoallnotesofequaldurationare
thesamecolor.Havetheclasspracticecountingandclappingtherhythmsoutloudasa
group.ThenlistentotheCDrecordingofthesongwhilecountingalong.
3. StudentswillcreateaflowchartdiagramusingKidspirationtomakearhythmflow
charttoillustrationthedurationandrelationshipofeachtypeofnote.
