Week Introduction

During week 5, the main focus will be to practice writing a


personal narrative essay. We will continue to work on the
beginning steps of the writing process. This week, you will
develop your first draft of a personal narrative. You will use the
topic you post in 5.1 Discussion activity. So, start thinking about
a memorable experience you had with someone.

Review pg 139-Example of an Opening Paragraph
Review page 88- Complete the three questions that follow the
narrative paragraph
Complete activity on page 134-135: analysis activity

Discussions
Participate in Discussion 5.1- Writing a Narrative Paragraph
Directions- Post at least 4 memorable experience with someone.
Then, choose one you would like to share with the class. Brainstorm
using the 5 W's (who, what, where, why, how). Write as much as you
can when answering the questions. Refer back to page 90 and use
the paragraph outline for your own narrative paragraph.
Discussion Requirements
1. Initial response should have at least 300 words.
2. Reply to at least 2 students (one word replies will not be counted
e.g. "Good Job").

3. Your replies should have at least 30 words.

Assignments
All of the following assignments are DUE no later than Sunday, by
Midnight.
