John Lammel Tribute Letter
TO
THE
COMPLEX
Welcome
to
the
John
A.
Lammel
Baseball
Complex.
Dr.
Lammel
was
the
principal
when
this
building
and
its
facilities
were
opened
to
the
Millard
community
in
1970;
and
he
helped
guide
the
district
through
the
transition
from
Millard
High
School
to
Millard
South
High
School.
Under
his
leadership
Millard
South
High
School
became
nationally
recognized
as
one
of
the
premier
high
school
learning
environments
in
the
country.
As
a
former
college
athlete
and
young
educator,
he
believed
that
involvement
in
all
school
activities
served
as
the
cornerstone
of
healthy
youth
development.
He
was
deeply
committed
to
ensuring
that
there
were
both
academic
and
co-curricular
opportunities
for
all
students
at
Millard
South.
Dr.
Lammel
served
the
Millard
community
and
Nebraska
education
with
distinction
for
26
years
and
left
a
legacy
of
always
putting
children
first.
His
humble
and
serving
attitude
was
evident
in
the
development
of
this
very
complex,
and
the
Millard
Public
Schools
are
proud
to
have
you
as
our
guest
at
the
John
A.
Lammel
Baseball
Complex.
Future
projects,
which
are
planned
to
help
upgrade
the
field,
are
a
new
scoreboard
and
planting
trees
around
the
outside
fence
area.
