- 3.6 Setting-

Teaching Points:

Drills under simplified conditions

Equipment:

Two players - one ball

Make sure that the order always is first: setting


the ball to oneself before proceeding
According to the level of performance the players
can independently regulate the difficulty of this
task

Drill Objective:
Assessment of the ball trajectory and
taking up an appropriate position
with a sturdy stand

Drill Description:
A and B are standing next to each
other. After having set the ball two
times to him-/herself A performs a
overhand pass into the empty space
in front of them. B runs after the
descending ball, sets it to him/herself, turns around (now facing A)
in order to overhand pass the ball
back to A. Afterwards B returns to
the initial position waiting for A to
pass the ball again.

Drill Variations:

The players directly have to


return the ball without selfsetting
Instead of the regular overhandpass the players can pass while
jumping or perform an overhead
pass to the partner
Add a third player
