Commanders Bulletin 18 06 15
Commanders Bulletin 18 06 15
Searches continue for the American national, Susan McLean, who went
missing on Sunday 17 May in Aberfeldy whilst on holiday. Specialist divers
from Police Scotland continue to carry out extensive searches in various
stretches of water in and around Aberfeldy.
Looking to news this week, I would like to start with a special mention for
Abernethy Community who provided some feedback in relation to the bulletin,
which was gratefully received, asking if there are any particular issues in their
area. Some crime searching revealed that Abernethy remains one of our
safest communities within Perth and Kinross. However, as road safety is one
of our priorities within the Local Policing Area, I can report that officers from
our Trunk Road Policing Group had carried out speed checks in the area and
detected a 23 year old male for driving at 44mph within a 30mph limit on 10 th
June.
Jumping across the water to Errol and Rattrays Bar and Restaurant was the
subject of a theft by housebreaking overnight Wednesday 10th when the doors
were forced open and property stolen from within.
Staying in Errol, 3 vandalisms occurred at the end of last week where stones
were thrown at windows and plant pots damaged.
Staying with vandalisms, and 3 linked crimes were reported in Bridge of Earn
where cars were damaged by scoring to the paintwork.
Some time between the 4th of May and 13th June 8 fruit trailers, worth around
16,000, were stolen from Colbeggie Farm Kettins. Nearby in Coupar Angus
and Burrelton attempts were made to break into 2 houses during the day on
Wednesday 17th June, where person or persons had tried to force open
windows. Staying in Strathmore, and a green Fuji Nevada pedal cycle and a
white Wilson tennis racquet were stolen from Parkisde Road, Alyth during the
early hours of Tuesday 16th June.
Finally for crime, and into Perth North and 2 linked thefts from motor vehicles
occurred at Tulloch Works, Tulloch Road, where a van was broken into and
diesel siphoned from another vehicle overnight on Sunday 14th June.
A couple of good drug recoveries, this week, resulted in 3 men from Inverness
appearing at Perth Sheriff Court in connection with the recovery of over 6000
of cocaine in Dunkeld Road, Perth and 5000 worth of Heroin plus cash was
recovered from a house in Davie Park Place Rattray Blairgowrie, which
resulted in a man and woman appearing in Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday
17th June.
