The visit will take place on February 24th, leaving school at 9am and returning at 10:25am. Parent help is required for transportation, with only one or two parents needed to stay with the group for the day. Parents are asked to complete and return the permission slip as soon as possible.

    Dear Parents/Caregivers

    As part of our term one unit ‘identity’ I have arranged a visit to the Southern Cemetery for room one.
    We are lucky enough to have Barbara Brookes (HOD, history at the University of Otago) joining us, she
    knows the cemetery really well and will be able to answer a number of the student’s questions and
    impart her history knowledge as we look around the cemetery. We will have a bit of a treasure hunt
    around the cemetery where the students have to find key people and information as they look around
    the grave sites.

    This take place on Wednesday 24th February. We will leave school at 9am and return for morning tea
    at 10.25am .

    In order for this day trip to go ahead, we require parent help with transport. We only need one or two
    parents to stay with the group so you may not need to stay with the class for the day, however you are
    welcome to if you wish.

    Please complete the permission slip below and return asap.
