Blue North Adds Dynamic Leadership to Board of Directors
SEATTLE Blue North, announced today that John E. Wells and Christopher
McReynolds were appointed to the companys Board of Directors. Blue North
President and CEO Kenny Down commented on the additions, By adding outside
Directors, Blue North is embracing the next step in its development of new
products, expanding markets and new equipment, including the construction of
new, state of the art fishing vessels. The first of which will be delivered later this
year. Wells and McReynolds were seated at the companys quarterly board
meeting last Friday. The two additions bring with them extensive market knowledge,
both within and beyond Blue Norths current industry.
Wells has led North-West food companies as CFO and Vice President of Finance. His
career includes over 20 years in financial leadership positions for food companies
ranging in size from $100 million to over $2 billion per year in revenues. He
currently serves as the CFO of Daves Killer Bread. Wells has a history of working in
co-op environments such as Darigold, Inc. and Tree Top, Inc. This co-op knowledge
will be of great value to Blue North along with his extensive knowledge in finance
and strategic business growth. Wells will advise on a variety of food and product
related issues with a concentration on finance, risk management and corporate
development.
McReynolds has created successful international seafood marketing programs for
several highly-respected companies. He is currently living in Seattle, and was
previously a Vice President with American Seafooods and President of American
Seafoods of Japan. McReynolds has lived abroad both in Asia and Europe. Most
recently, he has been working as a Senior VP of sales and marketing with Aker
BioMarine, headquartered in Oslo, Norway. McReynolds served in business
development with Costco Asia and was a President of FIS Japan, Ltd. McReynolds will
advise the Board with a concentration on marketing, sales, distribution and product
development.
McReynolds and Wells join the founding brothers of Blue North, Patrick and Michael
Burns on the Board of Directors, along with the latters two daughters, Caitlin and
Amelia Burns. Blue North Chairman Michael Burns commented As a company
working to expand into a diverse future, Blue North values the input of their Board
of Directors and feels that John Wells and Christopher McReynolds bring exactly the
expertise needed to continue that expansion.
