LTI: Lost time injury: An LTI is an injury due to a work related accident in which the injured is incapacitated for a shift or more, excluding the shift in which the
accident occurs. This includes fatalities.
LTI (fatal): lost time injury due to a fatal accident
LTI (n-fatal): lost time injury due to a non-fatal accident
NLTI: Non-lost time injury: any injury that requires medical attention (including first aid), but is not an LTI.
Shifts lost in terms of an accident is a number of shifts for which the injured is incapacitated, excluding the shift in which the accident occurred. The number of
shifts lost is based upon calendar days and includes weekends and public holidays. Days lost will only be counted for a maximum of twelve months after the
accident. In case of a fatal accident 365 days will be counted lost. Those days will be allocated to the month in which the accident occurred.
Man-hours worked: all the hours effectively worked on the quarry, including overtime and hours worked by contractors.
