raised(in(Kemmerer,(
Wyoming.(In(May(
of(2013,(I(
graduated(with(a(
bachelors(
degree(in(
Communication(
Disorders(and(
Audiology(and(a(
minor(in(Early(
Childhood(
Education(from(
the(University(of(
Wyoming.(
Working(with(
children(has(
always(been(an(
interest(of(mine.(It(is(my(goal(to(be(able(to(work(with(young(
children(who(are(experiencing(developmental(delays(in(
speech,(language,(and/or(swallowing(to(help(them(succeed(
in(both(their(education(and(their(lives.(With(all(of(my(
education,(observations,(and(graduate(clinical(practice(in(
speech(and(language,(I(have(realized(how(important(speech(
and(language(is(to(succeed(in(education(and(life.(((
(
Growing(up,(I(was(honored(to(get(to(know(and(
babysit(a(young(girl(with(TorielloFCarey(Syndrome.(I(became(
very(interested(in(the(services(that(the(local(developmental(
preschool(provided(to(her(and(her(family.(It(was(during(these(
experiences(that(I(knew(I(wanted(to(either(be(an(
occupational(therapist((OT)(or(a(speech(language(pathologist(
(SLP).(During(my(senior(year(of(high(school,(I(had(the(
opportunity(to(observe(both(an(OT(and(an(SLP(at(the(
elementary(school(in(Kemmerer,(WY.(Through(my(
observations(and(interactions(with(the(young(children,(I(
realized(how(important(speech(and(language(is(in(the(
development(of(young(children.(While(I(was(contemplating(
on(whether(or(not(to(go(into(occupational(therapy(or(speech(
language(therapy,(I(was(told(by(a(speech(language(

pathologist,(You(can(succeed(in(life(with(gross(and(fine(
motor(delays,(but(you(cannot(succeed(without(speech(or(
language.(This(is(when(I(made(my(decision(to(be(a(speech(
language(pathologist.((((
(
After(graduating(with(my(Masters(Degree(in(speech(
language(pathology,(it(is(my(goal(to(work(in(a(developmental(
preschool(serving(children(from(ages(birth(to(three.(I(love(
working(with(young(infants(and(I(would(like(to(continue(this(
interest(of(mine.((
(
Carli$Ausmann.(My(name(is(Carli(Ausmann.(Ever(since(I(was(
young,(I(knew(that(someday,(my(career(would(have(
something(to(do(with(helping(others.(I(have(done(many(
hours(of(community(
service(throughout(the(
years,(and(it(has(
opened(my(eyes(to(
different(ways(in(
which(people(live.(
Knowing(I(can(make(
a(difference(in(the(
lives(of(others(is(
heart(warming.(
When(I(was(a(little(
girl,(my(older(brother(
died(of(a(heart(
defect.(
Subsequently,(I(knew(
my(career(would(one(
day(be(in(the(medical(
field.(I(came(to(realize(
that(being(a(doctor(
would(be(difficult(for(me.(Losing(someone(whom(I(would(
have(become(close(with(would(be(too(strenuous(for(me(to(
handle.(After(coming(to(terms(with(this,(I(discovered(the(
career(of(physical(therapy.(I(enjoyed(learning(about(this(
profession,(but(realized(something(was(missing.(One(day,(a(
stroke(patient(visited(the(physical(therapy(office.(I(had(
experience(with(strokes(through(my(brother,(so(I(could(
relate(to(this(man.(Soon,(a(lady(appeared(and(began(to(work(
with(him(at(the(same(time(as(me.(I(was(fascinated(and(asked(
her(about(her(profession.(She(told(me(she(was(a(Speech(
Pathologist,(and(from(that(moment,(I(knew(exactly(what(I(
was(meant(to(do(in(my(future.(I(am(very(personable,(and(I(
believe(this(will(allow(me(to(work(with(all(types(of(patients.(I(
am(excited(for(my(future(and(will(feel(honored(to(work(with(
a(variety(of(clients.((((
(
After(completing(graduate(school,(I(plan(to(work(as(a(
Speech(Pathologist.(I(am(not(exactly(sure(where(I(would(like(

plenty(of(knowledge(and(experience(in(the(field,(my(ultimate(
goal(would(be(to(establish(my(own(private(practice(in(
