Addition of Bicycle Lanes on Rio Road from Highway One to


Carmel by the Sea City Limits

RECOMMENDATION(S):
Authorize the Mayor to send a letter to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors
supporting the addition of bicycle lanes on Rio Road from Highway One to the Carmelby-the-Sea city limits
SUMMARY:
On 21 July, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors is to consider adding bicycle
lanes on Rio Road from Highway One to the Carmel-by-the-Sea city limits. This
proposal was advocated by Council Member Beach at a meeting with Supervisor Dave
Potter and regional transportation planners at a meeting on 27 April.
The Council is being requested to authorize the Mayor to send a letter to the Monterey
County Board of Supervisors supporting the addition of bicycle lanes on this section of
Rio Road.
