Lesson Plan
Level: Intermediate
Date: 19.6.2015
Learning outcomes: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Moral values:
1. Students will be able to feel grateful to God for give us the free oxygen to live.
2. Student will able to appreciate their lungs from smoking for health condition.
Educational emphasis: Analysing the process mechanism of CO2 and O2, classify the rate of
respiration, communication between students and teacher.
Instructional aids: Diagram of regulatory mechanism of O 2 & CO2 content in the body, diagram of
respiration process, textbook, marker pens.
Previous knowledge: Students already learnt about respiratory structures in humans and their
characteristics, the breathing mechanism in previous subtopic, respiratory
structures and respiratory mechanism in human and animal.

Teaching procedure:
Stage
Set induction
(5 minutes)
Development
(15 minutes)
Instructional activity
1) Teacher greets the
students
2) Teacher give the
example imagine they
are stuck on a deserted
island. You have one
crate of food and a case
of bottled water. How
long do you think you
can make this food and
water last? But what if
you were trapped in a
place with a limited
amount of air? Does
anyone know how long
you can live without air
(oxygen)? Who can tell
me what system is
responsible for
breathing?
3) Teacher then explain
and relate on how the
diagrams work and
relate it with the lesson
that going to be learn
next.
1. Teacher starts to
explain about process
of rate of respiration
and rate of heart beat.
2. Teacher shows the
diagram of regulatory
mechanism of O2 &
CO2 contents in the
body.
3. Teacher explains the
heart, chemoreceptor &
pH process.
4. Teacher also explain
what effect if we take
so much CO2 in our
body.
Learning activity
1. Students greet teacher
back.
2. Students pay attention
3. Students listen to
teachers explanation.
1. Students listen to
teachers lecture and
jotting down notes and
important points in the
learning.
2. Students look at the
diagram and analyse it.
3. Students listen to
explanation and taking
notes from it.
4. Students listen and
apply in their daily life.
Activity 1
(5 minutes)
1.
Conclusion
(5 minutes)
1. Students listen to
teachers conclusion.
2. Students respond to
teachers question and
tell their conclusions.
Follow up activity: Teacher asks student to create their own mind map on the steps in the process of
regulatory mechanism of respiration.
