I am writing to express my strong interest in the Head Softball Coaching position at the prestigious Bucknell University. I am currently a student at Johnson C. Smith University and will be graduating May 2017, with a degree in Sport Management. I am very interested in joining your team and applying my skills on the job. My past experiences have prepared me to understand the importance of time management, organizational skills, active listening, critical thinking, customer service, instructing skills, and scheduling. My interest in athletics and athletic competition led me to pursue my Sport Management degree; which has given me the opportunity to learn how to conduct marketing plans, advance my communication skills, write research papers, and has allowed me to understand the importance of time management. I enjoy working on team projects and I often fall into the project manager role because I have a strong capacity for instructing, active listening, decision making, multi-tasking and managing projects under tight deadlines. As the head umpire of Salem Parks and Recreation; I greatly improved my communication skills during confrontations with coaches, parents, and athletes. I was able to resolve these confrontations in an appropriate manner and help resolve the situations at hand. This particular position allowed me to assist others by coaching and helping young athletes develop their skills on the playing field. I also assisted in coaching the travel softball team Indiana Sting by scheduling and conducting practices. This allowed me to advance in my organizational and time management skills by presenting my knowledge softball to the athletes. I am confident that my knowledge of softball and passion for athletics will make a real difference at Bucknell University and their softball program. I have attached my resume with further information about my educational and extracurricular background. I look forward to hearing from you and further discussing this great opportunity. Thank you for your time and attention.
