The circulatory system is organized forming a closed system

incluiding the heart, whose function is to pump blood (receiving and


driving the blood), and a number of vessels through which the blood
flows, the blood vessels.

Arteries: Carry blood from the heart to the organs.


Veins: They carry blood from the organs to the heart.
Valves: Prevent backflow of blood on its way to the heart.
Capillaries: Thin-walled vessels that connect arteries with veins.
Blood: Blood is composed of plasma and specialized cells
(erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelet).

The main function of the circulatory system is to carry nutrients and


collect metabolic waste, to be eliminated after through urine and
through exhaled air in the lungs.
