This lesson plan outlines an activity where students will analyze and compare the initial government reactions to the attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Students will watch brief video clips about each attack. They will then create an outline and visual aid for a motivational speech comparing the two events. Finally, students will record and present their speeches to the class. The lesson aims to have students understand and evaluate the different responses of the US government after each surprise attack through analysis of primary sources and a technology-based presentation activity.
